Lisbon Lemon

Lisbon is a hardy, vigorous lemon with juicy, sharp fruit that is great for cooking, drinks and preserving. The tree is thornier than Eureka, but it copes better with heat, cold and wind, and its dense foliage protects the fruit.

Its main crop ripens in winter, with smaller flushes at other times. Plant it in full sun with soil that drains well, water deeply through dry spells and feed with a citrus fertiliser in spring and late summer. Lisbon grows into a larger tree than many lemons, so allow room or prune after harvest.
