Ruby Grapefruit

Ruby grapefruit has pink to red flesh with a sweeter, milder flavour than the yellow varieties, while keeping that refreshing grapefruit tang. It is lovely halved for breakfast and makes a beautiful pink juice.

Grapefruit love warmth, which brings out the sweetness and colour in the fruit, so coastal northern NSW suits them well. Plant in full sun with soil that drains well, water deeply through dry spells and feed with a citrus fertiliser in spring and late summer. The fruit ripens through winter and spring and holds well on the tree.
