Tangerine

Tangerines are part of the mandarin family, with deep orange red skin that peels easily and sweet, rich, slightly tart flesh. They are a handy size for lunchboxes and snacks.

Fruit ripens through the cooler months. Plant the tree in full sun with soil that drains well, keep it watered through dry spells and feed with a citrus fertiliser in spring and late summer. Tangerines grow into a neat, medium sized tree that suits most backyards and handles light frosts once established.
