Honey Murcott Mandarin
Honey Murcott is one of the sweetest mandarins you can grow. The fruit has smooth, thin skin and deep orange flesh that is rich and very juicy. It is a late variety, ripening from late winter into spring, after most other mandarins have finished.
The thin skin is a little firmer to peel than Imperial, but the flavour makes up for it. Plant it in full sun with soil that drains well, water regularly and feed with a citrus fertiliser in spring and late summer. Thinning a heavy crop helps the tree fruit well every year rather than every second year.
