Hickson Mandarin
Hickson is an Australian mandarin that ripens later than the early varieties, so it keeps fresh mandarins coming into late winter. The fruit has rich, sweet flavour and good colour, with a few seeds, and peels easily.
Planting Hickson with an early mandarin such as Imperial or Emperor spreads your harvest over several months. Give it full sun and soil that drains well, water deeply through dry spells and feed with a citrus fertiliser in spring and late summer. The tree grows to around three to four metres.
