Kensington Pride Mango

Kensington Pride, often called the Bowen mango, is the classic Australian summer mango. The fruit has a red blush over yellow skin and sweet, rich, aromatic flesh that is hard to beat. It is the mango many Australians picture when they think of Christmas.

Mangoes need warmth. Plant in the warmest, most sheltered and frost free spot you have, in full sun with soil that drains well. Water young trees regularly and ease off in late winter, as a dry spell before spring helps flowering. Mangoes grow into big trees, but pruning after harvest keeps them to a size you can pick. Fruit ripens in summer.
